Meeting Minutes on 8th

Minutes:
1. Discussed fund raising ideas mainly to meet the administrative expenses for the Association. Decided to go ahead with Raffle competition on the eve of Halloween celebrations. Since the school is organising Assembly on 23rd October, we want to draw raffles to distribute Hampers to 5 or more children. Each Raffle would cost €1 and PA would be selling them to Parents at the school in the morning.
Actions: Rao to print posters, Olga to buy Raffles, Juna to sell tickets for the week of 13th and Sofia to identify Hampers. Rakshmi/Sofia would present on 23rd at the Assembly to distribute gifts.
2. Logo Competition: Due to Halloween Raffle meetings, we want to organize this at the end of November. There will be a gift voucher if there is a winner. Olga will arrange to send letters to PA via Tom.
3. Calendar 2010: On behalf of Tina, Rao informed the members that the proposed Calendar idea has been dropped due to lack of sufficient funds to invest at this stage and also not enough progress is made on the proposed theme "Concept of Ireland". There was mixed reaction to this and we discussed different alternatives. The options are left open to see the feasibility of bringing a decent calendar by 1st Dec and at a reasonable price.
4. Next meeting: Mostly Nov 5th. If required earlier, all registered members will be informed.

Minutes:
* Welcome to new members: It was good to see new parents attendance
and interest to actively involve with the Association. After short
introduction about PA, thoughts were in the air from all corners on
how best we can improve PA. We'll see how we execute some social
events based on our experimental experiences so far - more in next
meeting.

* Committee members: Four new enthusiastic parents joined the
committee. These additions bring the numbers to its capacity. So the
committee is as follows:

* Spreading the Word of PA: To meet our objectives of socializing,
fund raising and fun-filled activities we need active participation
from other parents. Suggestions were to collect as many email ids and
phone numbers from parents and communicate effectively. Also,
encourage parents to use school blogs for sharing constructive views

* School Calender: Tina updated the group on the latest status on this
project. We thought it would be better to send letters to parents for
information.

* School Logo: We decided to held the competition on 1st Nov. We need
this logo for the calender as well, and we need to make sure that Logo
would be the last one to add just before going to the printer. Olga
would be sending details of the competition to parents.

* PA Constitution: Tom updated BoM feedback. We need to resubmit to
the Board with changes.

* Next meeting would be on 8th October at 7:30 pm
